This characteristic Andalusian farm house has been converted into a beautiful rural hotel, surrounded by olive groves. This boutique hotel also features a library, and a restaurant. The Hacienda Minerva is a restored 19th-century property with white walls and attractive arches. All of the rooms have air conditioning, a hairdryer and satellite TV. A mini-bar is available under request. The Minerva’s tavern offers an informal setting for tapas and is located in the building’s former barn. The restaurant serves local cuisine and has an outdoor terrace with great views. The comfortable lounge features an open fire. Hacienda Minerva is a short drive from the famous Murcielagos Cave and the Zuheros Castle, dating from the 12th century.

The room is OK. The hotel and restaurant both are good. There was a lot of cats around.

This hotel has a beautiful location. The terrace where we had breakfast had a wonderful view. We also had a great meal in the restaurant at a reasonable price. However, several things were disappointing. The shower was too cold to use - would be OK in the summer, I’m sure. The breakfast was very poor value with no hot food. For the breakfast we paid £40 for 2 adults and 2 kids on Expedia - the hotel said it should have been €9 each but didn’t offer a refund, and that still would have been overpriced. There are a large number of cats around the place, which is cute but proved not terribly hygienic. The TV didn’t work. The shaving mirror in the bathroom was broken. These last 2 things are minor quibbles but for a “4 star” hotel with an 8.8 Expedia rating, it was not what I was expecting. Without those, I would booked a cheaper place. I will be wary of relying so much on ratings/stars in future.
